Under the Bridge is absolutely one of my favorite songs! Be warned, it is not easy. If you are at the beginner stage then have a look, but don’t be disappointed if you can’t play it that well yet. It involves a lot of technique and quick finger movement.

The intro riff solo is played in the key of F# and starts off by arpeggiating a rather difficult barre chord, which will take some getting used to. I actually remember learning this song myself back in the day, this part was the most difficult, but it can be learned, it’s just a matter of practice and how much time you put into it. You’ll be learning a lot of guitar chords in this song, including many bar chords.

You’ll be learning the verse as well, which is played in the key of E major. This part of the lesson will involve a lot of strumming, including finger-muted strums.

The guitar lesson on Under the Bridge will teach you many valuable techniques, including arpeggios, chords, and strumming. It’s not an easy lesson but gives you a great chance to practice a bunch of guitar techniques, including bar chords and changing in between them.

Under the Bridge was released by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1992 from their 5th studio album Blood Sugar Sex Magik. It was written by vocalist Anthony Kiedis to express his emotionally drained state during a period of narcotics abuse. It is set in the city of angels, Los Angeles (I lived there for 3 years 🙂 ). The song was a huge success and is one of the most memorable Red Hot Chili Peppers songs.
