9th chords are formed by adding the 9th (2nd) to a dominant 7th chord (1 3 5 b7). They are often found in blues, funk and Jazz music.
Here are 6 voicings of the F9 guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
Notice that the root note of a chord will be it's main, and lowest note. However, this will not be true for chord inversions.
When practicing new chords, change between 2-3 new ones, and you'll be able to learn them faster.
