|E Augmented (+) chord intervals and notes|
|Intervals||1 - 3 - #5|
|Notes in E aug||E - G# (Ab) - C|
The augmented chord is a triad built with two major thirds. It is usually notated either as aug or + chord. The aug chord is symmetric. You can divide the scale into three major thirds, meaning that for instance Caug and Eaug will have the same notes. Because of this, there are basically only four different augmented chords.
Here are 6 voicings of the Eaug guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
A chord is made up of at least 3 notes, or musically triads.
When learning chords, try not looking at your fretting fingers after a while, since you'll need to be able to form the chord without peeking.
