|C Augmented (+) chord intervals and notes|
|Intervals||1 - 3 - #5|
|Notes in C aug||C - E - G# (Ab)|
The augmented chord is a triad built with two major thirds. It is usually notated either as aug or + chord. The aug chord is symmetric. You can divide the scale into three major thirds, meaning that for instance Caug and Eaug will have the same notes. Because of this, there are basically only four different augmented chords.
Here are 6 voicings of the Caug guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
Your fingers need to get used to the given chord shapes, but with time, they will automatically form the shape naturally.
Notice that the root note of a chord will be it's main, and lowest note. However, this will not be true for chord inversions.
