|F Augmented (+) chord intervals and notes|
|Intervals||1 - 3 - #5|
|Notes in F aug||F - A - C# (Db)|
The augmented chord is a triad built with two major thirds. It is usually notated either as aug or + chord. The aug chord is symmetric. You can divide the scale into three major thirds, meaning that for instance Caug and Eaug will have the same notes. Because of this, there are basically only four different augmented chords.
Here are 6 voicings of the Faug guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
Chord theory is helpful in undertanding why each chord is played the way it is. If you really want to advance, learn the theory behind chords as well.
Learning chords takes time. Playing something slow and clean, will always be better than fast and sloppy.
