|D Major 7 chord intervals and notes|
|Intervals||1 - 3 - 5 - 7|
|Notes in D maj7||D - F# (Gb) - A - C# (Db)|
The maj7 is a major chord, not to be confused with the m7, which is a minor chord. The major refers to the 7th as such and not to the basic chord, which is 11 half steps up from the root. You can also think about the maj7 as to think of a major 7th as an octave minus a half step (1 semitone).
Here are 6 voicings of the Dmaj7 guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
The more you practice, the more you'll develop your hands muscle memory, and the easier each chord will become with time.
Learning chords takes time. Playing something slow and clean, will always be better than fast and sloppy.
