|A Major 7 chord intervals and notes|
|Intervals||1 - 3 - 5 - 7|
|Notes in A maj7||A - C# (Db) - E - G# (Ab)|
The maj7 is a major chord, not to be confused with the m7, which is a minor chord. The major refers to the 7th as such and not to the basic chord, which is 11 half steps up from the root. You can also think about the maj7 as to think of a major 7th as an octave minus a half step (1 semitone).
Here are 6 voicings of the Amaj7 guitar chord, with a chord chart to each voicings' fingering.
Learning to play new guitar chords takes practice and dedication, so don't give up if you don't get it right on the first go.
Muscle memory for guitarists means that your fingers automatically remember where to go when playing chords. You can build muscle memory and finger strength by practicing at least 30 minutes per day.
