This week's new lesson is on a great classical guitar piece called Romanza. It goes by many other names as well, such as Romance, Spanish Romance, etc, but you can check them all out on our Romanza guitar lesson page.
This song is a great beginner fingerpicking song, which helps you develop your knowledge of scales and chords as well. The song consists of 2 parts, the first one being easy, and the second one being much harder.
The best thing to do is learn the first part if you're just starting out on the guitar, and keep the second part for later on, when you've been playing for at least a year. You'll have loads of fun with the first part of Romanza, and I guarantee that your listeners will be amazed when you play it to them. If you can learn the 2nd part already as well, then even better 🙂
The song is played in 3/4 time, which means that it will have 3 beats to the measure, but I explain more about this in the lessons itself.
While this is a classical piece best enjoyed on an acoustic guitar, you should learn this song even if you only have an electric guitar. Just make sure you turn down your distortion all the way, to get a clean sound.
Have fun and enjoy the song, and record yourself and send me your recording sometime! And if you are into acoustic fingerpicking, make sure you check out the rest of our beginner fingerstyle guitar songs.
