Lots of you guys have asked for this song, and here you go. This week’s lesson is on Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5, one of the most popular and successful songs of 2011. It is still played daily on lots of radio stations, even 1 year after it’s release. This song has gotten so much airtime over the past year, but people still enjoy listening to it, including me :- )
The guitar part of the song is basically just rhythm guitar with funk-style strumming. It is an intermediate level song, since funk strumming is a bit tricky. There are lots of things you need to be mindful of, and even if you’ve been playing for quite a while, getting used to this sort of strumming will be a challenge.
You won’t be able to learn it overnight, but I will give you many tips and tools on how to make your practice sessions as productive as possible. We’ll have several play-alongs to drum tracks with various BPM in the Moves Like Jagger guitar lesson, to help you get used to the fast paced style of funk guitar.
It is tricky, but hey, if I could learn it, anyone can, you just have to devote enough time to it.
We’ll also learn the whistling part of the song, which will be a nice change from the strumming section, since it’s super easy :- )
