This week's lesson is all about speed and lead guitar. You'll be learning how to play Beautiful Disaster by 311, which is a song you may not necessarily be familiar with, but trust me, you'll love it once you hear it, and you'll enjoy playing it even more.
The song itself is fairly straight forward, perhaps the only difficult thing about it is really, the speed. They play it pretty fast, and that should be your mid-term aim as well. Start out slow of course, but don't be shy to speed up gradually.
There are many parts to this song, so it's a pretty long lesson. You'll be learning and advancing a multitude of guitar techniques, like strumming, open chords, power chords, lead guitar... you name it, this song's got it 🙂
If you're not familiar with the song, you might want to give the song a listen on YouTube before watching our Beautiful Disaster guitar lesson, just so you know what you'll be learning. This song was featured on one of the Guitar Hero games, but other than that, I think it didn't get the attention it deserved.
Also, keep in mind that the original is played on 2 guitars simultaneously, so playing it on a single guitar won't achieve exactly the same sound as you'll hear in the original track. I teach a very good cover in the tutorial, but know that it won't sound 100% the same.
Ok, so go ahead and start learning, download the tabs as well, and I'll see you in the lesson!
